Introduction
Without effective support, individuals within care settings can develop sedentary lifestyles, resulting in challenging behaviours arising through boredom and frustration. With our Person-Centred Engagement course, participants will develop the knowledge and tools needed to keep supported individuals active and engaged with the world around them.

- To understand the definition and principles of “Person-Centred Engagement” and why it is an essential part of any care environment.
- To recognise the signs and dangers of supported individuals losing interactivity with the world around them.
- To recognise tools and strategies that are available to encourage supported individuals to improve their level of engagement.
- To improve verbal and non-verbal communication with supported individuals to better meet their needs.
- To appreciate the importance of involving supported individuals in their care planning.
